Intuninophkee (In Tune and Off Key)

O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Ps. 95:1

Day 11: America, the Dream Goes On

We boarded buses early on Saturday for our surprise trip. Because we left so early, we were provided a sack breakfast. Once we were on the buses, it was safe to tell us where we were going—with the stipulation that we could not make it public until the end of the day.

I may have failed to mention this before, but every time we got on the buses to go somewhere, we watched a video that talked about where we were going. There were often some fun clips as well.

West Point Academy

West Point Academy is a beautiful place in upstate New York. We had our own guide who took our little group around to see some interesting statues, buildings, and cannons.

We got to eat in the cafeteria at West Point. The hall was reminiscent of Hogwarts. What do you think?

The choir had a very hot sound check in the afternoon. I only took a short clip, but notice the fanning and the music shades. I sat in the sun to listen for a while, but quickly needed to move to the shade.

Sound Check

Except for around the time of the sound check, we had a bit of rain on and off all day until evening. Luckily, the concert did not need to be cancelled.

I took several clips of the concert.

Cohen’s Big Three They sang this at Yankee Stadium as well.

America, the Dream Goes On

Here is a News Story about our trip to West Point. They’ve got better footage than I do. Bruce and I make an appearance at 1:33. I’m wearing a black and white striped dress with a black jacket, and Bruce has a bright coral shirt with tan pants. We’re walking away from the camera. They end with a shot of the fireworks. My camera had run out of space and battery by that point. The fireworks were some of the best I’ve seen.
